Women’s March NYC
The Women's March in New York was a peaceful procession of people from all walks of life. I proudly marched alongside my mother, whose last protest was during the People's Power Revolution in the Philippines, and Women Against War & Violence led by artist Amina Ahmed. Many of the artists in our group have studio practices at Mana Contemporary, including myself. My reflection lies in the humility of intersecting histories, stories, and struggles that were paved before me. I march proudly as a female Philippine-American in contrast to the devastating political events occurring in America and the Philippines.
